Heavy rain didn’t deter officers from the Central Policing Division, who gathered at the Nasova Ground for their Divisional Quarterly Parade, marking a significant milestone as it was the first parade led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Ruci Nasemira since her appointment in March. During the event, SP Nasemira praised her team for their dedication and acknowledged the distinct challenges they face while policing Fiji’s capital.

“With our position at the heart of Fiji, our role is highly visible,” SP Nasemira stated. She highlighted that officers not only enforce the law but also represent public safety to the community, emphasizing their responsibility in serving a diverse population that includes government institutions and diplomatic missions.

In her address, SP Nasemira stressed the importance of teamwork and mental well-being, encouraging officers to support each other. She also expressed gratitude to the families of officers, recognizing them as the “silent strength” that contributes to their achievements.

This focus on community-oriented policing reflects the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to ensure public safety while fostering a supportive atmosphere within the force. The commitment to professionalism and teamwork is critical as the police prepare for any increase in demands during the festive season.

As we approach this period filled with celebrations, it’s reassuring to see leadership that prioritizes the welfare of police officers and the community alike. This proactive mindset not only enhances public safety but also encourages a strong bond between law enforcement and the citizens they protect.
