New Leadership Shakeup: PA Party Appoints Ro Filipe Tuisawau as Deputy Leader

The People’s Alliance (PA) party has appointed Ro Filipe Tuisawau as one of its new deputy leaders, succeeding Lynda Tabuya, who was dismissed from the position in March. Tabuya’s removal was associated with a complaint regarding her alleged involvement in an extramarital affair and a drug scandal that occurred during a government trip to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, last year. The party’s acting secretary, Sila Balawa, confirmed that the executive committee approved Ro Filipe’s appointment during its meeting on September 25.

Ro Filipe is currently the Minister for Public Works, Transport, and Meteorological Services, as well as the Leader of Government Business in Parliament. He previously served as the Opposition Whip from 2018 to 2022 during the previous administration.
