New Leadership Shakeup in The People’s Alliance Party

The People’s Alliance (PA) party has appointed Ro Filipe Tuisawau as one of its new deputy leaders, succeeding Lynda Tabuya, who was ousted from the position in March. Tabuya’s removal was related to allegations concerning her involvement in an extramarital affair and a drug scandal that occurred during a governmental trip to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, last year.

The party’s acting secretary, Sila Balawa, announced yesterday that the executive committee approved Ro Filipe’s appointment as deputy leader during its meeting on September 25th.

Ro Filipe currently holds the role of Minister for Public Works, Transport, and Meteorological Services and serves as the Leader of Government Business in Parliament. He was the Opposition Whip from 2018 to 2022 in the prior administration.
