New Leadership: Prit Chand Takes the Helm at Telecommunications Authority of Fiji

Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a significant milestone for the organization.

Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, having held leadership positions that focused on innovation and strategic growth within the local market. His vast expertise in network planning, project management, and strategic development will be crucial for TAF as it aims to improve connectivity and digital inclusion throughout Fiji.

Manoa Kamikamica, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, praised the new TAF Board for successfully selecting Chand as the CEO. Prior to his role at TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd.

In his new capacity, Chand will manage all operational aspects of TAF, including regulatory oversight, policy review and development, and stakeholder engagement. He is also set to lead initiatives that focus on expanding universal service access, enhancing service quality, and fostering innovation within the telecommunications industry.
