New Leadership: Paula Cirikiyasawa Takes Helm as Permanent Secretary

The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources has appointed Paula Cirikiyasawa as its new permanent secretary. With two decades of experience in the civil service and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Cirikiyasawa takes over from Dr. Raijeli Taga, who has transitioned to a new position after four years in the role.

Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Luke Rokovada, expressed confidence in Cirikiyasawa’s leadership capabilities, noting his impressive history of innovation and strategic vision, which make him well-suited for the position. Prior to joining the UNDP in 2018, Cirikiyasawa held various senior roles in the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development and Investment, and the National Planning Office.

Rokovada stated, “The commission is thrilled to welcome Paula Cirikiyasawa as the latest appointee as permanent secretary.” In his new role, Cirikiyasawa will oversee the ministry’s strategic direction and operations, emphasizing innovation, expansion, and sustainability. He is eager to apply his expertise to the ministry and is dedicated to fostering ongoing growth and success.

Dr. Taga is expected to assume her new role next month. Rokovada highlighted her significant contributions to the ministry’s achievements.
