The application period for the role of Commissioner of Police will end tomorrow, a crucial step for the Fiji Police Force as it prepares to appoint a new leader.
This development follows over a year of temporary leadership under Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew. Chew has been serving in this capacity since the suspension of former Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho. Although Chew does not plan to apply for the permanent position, he remains hopeful about the future of the Fiji Police Force, believing that the new appointment will foster positive changes and enhance the organization.
“The closing is tomorrow, that is the last day of the month of September. I leave it to the process and let it take its course, and we will get to know who is the successful applicant,” Chew stated.
The Constitutional Offices Commission will make the final decision regarding the new Commissioner after thoroughly assessing the applicants.
