Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a major development for TAF. With nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, Chand has held various leadership positions, where he has focused on innovation and strategic growth in the local market. His deep knowledge in network planning, projects, and strategy will be vital in furthering TAF’s goal of improving connectivity and digital inclusion across Fiji.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica has commended the TAF Board for successfully selecting the new CEO. Prior to his role at TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd. In his new position, Chand will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of TAF, which include regulatory oversight, policy review and development, and engaging with stakeholders. He will also lead efforts to expand universal service access, enhance service quality, and foster innovation within the telecommunications industry.
