Apisai Ketenilagi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), with his term set to begin on January 2, 2025, and lasting for three years. This decision was made by the FRA Board in accordance with the FRA Act of 2012.
To aid in the recruitment process, the Board utilized its internal Procurement Department, engaging KPMG to identify the most qualified candidate for the CEO position. The role was publicly advertised following FRA’s recruitment policy, and Ketenilagi was chosen based on recommendations from a three-member interview panel comprising FRA Board Members.
Ketenilagi brings over 30 years of extensive experience in road infrastructure engineering, contributing significantly to various sectors, including highways, rural roads, bridges, marine structures, and asset maintenance. His impressive qualifications include a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He is also an esteemed member of professional engineering institutions in regions such as Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.
FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago expressed confidence in Ketenilagi’s capabilities, stating that his extensive experience and expertise in infrastructure development make him the ideal candidate to lead the FRA into the future.
