Apisai Ketenilagi has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), starting on January 2, 2025, for a three-year term. This decision was made by the FRA Board in accordance with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Act of 2012.
To find the most qualified candidate for the CEO position, the FRA Board engaged KPMG through its internal Procurement Department. The role was advertised in accordance with FRA’s recruitment policies, and Ketenilagi was selected following recommendations from a panel of three FRA Board Members after a comprehensive interview process.
Ketenilagi brings over 30 years of experience in road infrastructure engineering, demonstrating significant contributions in various areas, including highways, rural roads, bridges, marine structures, construction, and asset maintenance. His educational credentials are impressive; he holds a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he is a respected member of professional engineering organizations in regions including Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.
In a statement regarding Ketenilagi’s appointment, FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago praised his extensive experience and expertise in infrastructure development and management, deeming him the ideal candidate to guide FRA forward. Nayago expressed confidence that Ketenilagi would enhance the FRA’s performance and uphold the commitment to safe and sustainable infrastructure in Fiji. The Board looks forward to collaborating with him to reach new achievements.
