Ditoka’s career began with the Legal Aid Commission before he transitioned to the Solicitor-General’s Office. He has also held the position of Director of Legislature within the Parliamentary Secretariat, showcasing a diverse background in legal and governmental matters.
The role of Official Secretary is pivotal, as outlined in a job advertisement from early November, which states that this position is responsible for ensuring that all advice provided to the President aligns with Fiji’s Constitution. In fulfilling this duty, the Official Secretary collaborates closely with the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers via their respective Permanent Secretaries. Additionally, as the Head of Department, the Official Secretary manages the daily functions of the Office of the President.
