Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a significant achievement for the TAF.
Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, having held various leadership positions that focused on innovation and growth in the local market. His deep knowledge in network planning, project management, and strategic development will be crucial in furthering TAF’s goal of improving connectivity and digital inclusion throughout Fiji.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica has recognized the efforts of the new TAF Board in successfully securing Chand’s leadership.
Prior to his new role at TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd. In his position as CEO, he will manage all aspects of TAF operations, which includes regulatory oversight, policy development, and engaging with stakeholders.
Chand is also expected to lead initiatives that aim to widen universal service access, enhance service quality, and encourage innovation in the telecommunications industry.
