“New Leadership at TAF: Prit Chand Takes the Helm”

Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a significant achievement for the Authority.

Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, where he has held leadership positions focused on driving innovation and strategic growth within the local market. His extensive knowledge in network planning, project management, and strategic development is expected to significantly contribute to TAF’s goals of improving connectivity and promoting digital inclusion throughout Fiji.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica praised the TAF Board for successfully selecting the new CEO. Prior to this role, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd.

In his new position, he will manage all facets of TAF’s operations, which include regulatory oversight, policy review and development, as well as stakeholder engagement. Additionally, Chand will lead efforts to enhance universal service access, elevate service quality, and foster innovation within the telecommunications industry.
