New Leadership at TAF: Prit Chand Takes the Helm

Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment is seen as a significant step forward for the organization. Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, having held various leadership roles where he focused on driving innovation and strategic growth in the local market. His vast knowledge in network planning, projects, and strategy is expected to play a crucial role in TAF’s goals of enhancing connectivity and promoting digital inclusion throughout Fiji.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica praised the TAF Board for its successful selection of the new CEO. Prior to joining TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd. In his new position, Chand is responsible for overseeing all operations of TAF, which includes regulatory oversight, policy review and development, as well as engaging with stakeholders. He will also lead initiatives focused on expanding universal service access, improving service quality, and fostering innovation within the telecommunications sector.
