New Leadership at TAF: Prit Chand Takes the Helm

Prit Chand has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a significant milestone for the organization.

Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, having held various leadership positions where he focused on innovation and strategic development in the local market. His in-depth knowledge in network planning, project management, and strategy will play a crucial role in furthering TAF’s goal of improving connectivity and digital inclusion throughout Fiji.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, praised the TAF Board for successfully appointing the new CEO. Prior to his role at TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects, and Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd.

In his new position, Chand will manage all operations of TAF, which includes regulatory oversight, policy review and development, as well as stakeholder engagement. He will also lead efforts to enhance universal service access, improve service quality, and foster innovation within the telecommunications industry.
