The Public Service Commission has confirmed the appointments of Amenatave Yauvoli and Jone Navakamocea as the new Permanent Secretaries for Civil Service and Public Enterprises, and iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts, respectively. PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada announced that these appointments are effective from June 10.

Yauvoli previously served as Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia and has a robust background in various public service roles, including as Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, Navakamocea takes on the responsibilities at a crucial time for iTaukei affairs.

Additionally, Parmesh Chand and Pita Tagicakirewa, the former Permanent Secretaries for Civil Service and iTaukei Affairs, have been reassigned to special duties. These changes come after consultations with the Prime Minister and indicate a strategic approach to strengthen Fiji’s public administration.

This turnover in leadership within the Civil Service marks a continuation of the government’s commitment to fostering professional growth and development in Fiji, aiming to enhance public governance and services.

The recent appointments reflect the ongoing efforts to ensure that capable leaders are in significant positions, thereby promoting stability and efficiency in Fiji’s governmental operations. This trend of reassignment and appointment showcases a hopeful outlook for the country’s administrative landscape, as it continues to harness local talent.
