New Hotel Venture Set to Boost Labasa Tourism

Major hotel brands, including Wyndham, have shown interest in partnering with the Damodar Group to manage a new 40-room hotel in Labasa. Div Damodar, the CEO of Damodar Group, confirmed that an official announcement would be made soon regarding this development.

Damodar expressed that numerous prominent businesses have sought their collaboration, indicating growing confidence in the tourism sector and the presence of international brands in Vanua Levu. He emphasized that Vanua Levu remains a largely untapped tourism market.

The new hotel is expected to serve as a catalyst for attracting more major brands to Fiji. In addition to guest rooms, the hotel will feature an 80-seater conference room and a swimming pool, suitable for workshops and various events.

The project is projected to create at least 25 job opportunities, with the hotel set to open by the end of the year.
