Damodar Group has announced the opening of a new 40-room hotel in Labasa town, marking a significant development in local tourism and accommodation. This hotel is part of the extensive Damodar City Labasa project, which represents a $60 million investment by Damodar North Pte Limited, with $10 million allocated specifically for the hotel’s construction and fit-out.
Div Damodar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Damodar Group, expressed enthusiasm over the new hotel, indicating it could serve as a catalyst for attracting other international brands to the region. He believes the arrival of the Ramada Encore brand will stimulate further growth in Labasa’s tourism industry and enhance the opportunities for related tourism activities, particularly in the scenic areas surrounding Labasa.
The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel aims to provide an appealing option for both business and leisure travelers, featuring 40 well-appointed rooms. Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, including a conference facility, pools, a gym, outdoor seating, entertainment areas, and dining options. These offerings are intended to uphold the high standards associated with the Ramada Encore brand worldwide.
Damodar highlighted the potential for further tourism ventures in Labasa, such as hiking tours, river safaris, and fishing excursions. Manoa Kamikamica, the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, noted that this hotel will elevate hospitality standards in Labasa, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ongoing investment and development in the region.
The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel is expected to officially open later this year.
