New Hotel Brand Boosts Labasa’s Tourism Scene

Damodar North Pte Limited has revealed the name of its new hotel in Labasa, which will be called Ramada Encore by Wyndham-Damodar City Labasa. This establishment is part of Damodar Group, a well-known name in the cinema industry.

According to Chief Executive Officer Div Damodar, this development signifies the introduction of the first international hotel brand in Labasa, enhancing the town’s status within Fiji’s tourism sector. He mentioned that the hotel will feature 40 rooms, three suites, an 80-seat conference area, a pool, a gym, and outdoor entertainment spaces, including a bar and restaurant.

Slated to open later this year, the hotel aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Mr. Damodar emphasized that the hotel will contribute positively to the economy of Labasa. He stated that introducing an international brand in the area is likely to foster further growth in local tourism.

With the presence of Ramada Encore, there will be increased opportunities for promoting tourism activities in Vanua Levu, particularly in the scenic regions surrounding Labasa. He expressed a vision for the hotel to serve as a central hub for tourism activities in the area.

Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Damodar City Labasa will be managed by Damodar North Pte Limited, ensuring the hotel maintains the luxury experience associated with Ramada Encore properties worldwide.

The hotel is part of a broader Damodar City Labasa project, which involves a total investment of $60 million, with $10 million specifically allocated for the construction and finishing of the hotel. This investment underscores the company’s dedication to boosting Labasa’s appeal as a tourist destination, highlighting the area’s potential for growth.
