On the island of Vukelulu, a new health facility has been officially opened in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka. This initiative follows significant investment made in 2017.

The New Zealand government has generously contributed $472,895 for the enhancement of this medical center along with its services. The center is expected to serve approximately 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa areas, providing them with essential medical care.

Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized the importance of ensuring the well-being and healthcare accessibility for the community, noting the critical role health services play in the lives of local inhabitants. Furthermore, the new facility aims to ease healthcare access for students from nearby institutions such as Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, fostering a healthier environment among the youth.

Both the Health Ministry and the New Zealand government expressed their commitment to maintaining high-quality health services for the Fijian communities. Charlotte Darlow, a representative from the New Zealand government, reinforced the message that they will continue to support Fiji in improving healthcare facilities and services to benefit the residents.

This new facility marks an important step forward in enhancing healthcare delivery in the region, showcasing international collaboration to ensure better health outcomes for communities.

In a world where healthcare accessibility can significantly impact quality of life, the opening of this center offers a promising development, fostering hope for improved health services in Fiji.
