New Healthcare Facility Boosts Community Support in Fiji

The new health center in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka. This center has been established with the support of the New Zealand government, which contributed $472,895 towards its development.

Approximately 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa areas will benefit from the services provided by this new facility. Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized the importance of maintaining public health services and highlighted the critical role these services play in improving the quality of life for local residents.

Furthermore, the health center is expected to enhance the healthcare services available to students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as to local communities nearby. The New Zealand government, through their representative Charlotte Darlow, reiterated their commitment to continue supporting Fiji in improving health services for its citizens.

This initiative not only brings immediate health benefits to the community but also fosters an ongoing partnership between Fiji and New Zealand, aiming for enhanced public health and well-being in the region.
