A new health facility is set to open this week in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, as announced by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka. This follows the facility’s establishment in 2017, which was funded by the New Zealand government, contributing approximately $472,895 for its development and services improvements.
The new health center is expected to serve around 8,000 residents from the Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa areas in Vualiku and Tailevu, enhancing healthcare access for the community. Rabuka emphasized the importance of safeguarding the wellbeing and service quality within the health sector for the residents.
Additionally, the facility is designed to improve healthcare services for students from nearby educational institutions such as Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, ensuring that they receive necessary health support.
Charlotte Darlow from the New Zealand government confirmed their ongoing commitment to assist Fiji in enhancing health services for the population, underlining the crucial nature of accessible healthcare amid ongoing challenges.
This development not only signifies a partnership between Fiji and New Zealand but also reflects progress towards improving health infrastructure in the region, ultimately contributing to the overall wellbeing of the community.
In conclusion, the opening of this new health facility brings hope for enhanced healthcare access and quality, promising better support for both residents and students in the surrounding areas. This initiative is a positive step toward a healthier future for the community.
