New Health Facility Set to Transform Lives in Tailevu

The new health facility in Dago, Nananu, Tailevu, was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, marking a significant development for the community. This initiative has been supported by the New Zealand government, which contributed around $472,895 to improve the healthcare services and infrastructure.

Approximately 8,000 residents from Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa will benefit from this health center. Rabuka emphasized the importance of safeguarding the health and services provided by the facility for the community’s well-being.

The new facility will also enhance healthcare for students from Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School, as well as for surrounding educational institutions. The New Zealand Ministry of Health has been commended for its continued support in providing quality healthcare services to the Fijian population.

Charlotte Darlow, a representative of the New Zealand government, stated that the collaboration will persist in enhancing healthcare services in Fiji, especially considering the ongoing challenges posed by various health threats.

This development not only improves access to healthcare for many but also strengthens international partnerships, fostering a spirit of cooperation that benefits local communities.
