New Health Center Opens: A Diwali Gift for Tailevu Residents!

Residents in Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa are joyfully celebrating the inauguration of the Dogo Health Center in Nananu, Tailevu, which coincides with the festive occasion of Diwali. This health center, with a funding allocation of $472,895, is set to serve over 8,000 individuals and is strategically positioned along the route to Natovi Jetty, ensuring accessibility for the local populace.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka emphasized the New Zealand Government’s dedication to upgrading primary healthcare facilities throughout Fiji, with an expected investment exceeding FJ$ 4 million. This initiative is focused on improving the quality of health services and modernizing existing infrastructure.

Future enhancements include converting Galoa Nursing Station into a Health Centre, renovating the Makoi Health Centre, and making improvements at various other healthcare facilities. The Prime Minister also announced that refurbishment efforts at Momi Nursing Station are already underway, which will include the construction of new nurse quarters.

The Dogo Health Center’s construction was generously funded by the New Zealand government, reinforcing their ongoing commitment to enhance health infrastructure for all Fijians, as highlighted by New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Charlotte Darlow.
