Residents of Dawasamu, Namena, and Sawakasa are joyfully marking the inauguration of the Dogo Health Center in Nananu, Tailevu, which coincided with the Diwali festivities. This new facility, with a construction cost of $472,895, is set to benefit over 8,000 individuals, conveniently located along the route to Natovi Jetty.
During the launch, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka emphasized the commitment of the New Zealand Government to modernizing primary healthcare facilities throughout Fiji, with an estimated investment of more than FJ$ 4 million. This initiative is aimed at improving the quality of health services and upgrading infrastructure.
The planned enhancements include converting the Galoa Nursing Station into a Health Centre, renovating the Makoi Health Centre, and upgrading several other medical facilities. The Prime Minister also shared that renovation work has commenced at the Momi Nursing Station, which will feature new accommodations for nurses.
The development of the Dogo Health Center has been supported by funding from the New Zealand government. Charlotte Darlow, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Fiji, reiterated the commitment to advancing health infrastructure for all residents in Fiji.
