The French Embassy in Fiji has officially announced the appointment of Julie Le Saos as the new French Ambassador to the country. Ambassador Le Saos arrived in Fiji on September 3 and recently presented her credentials to Fiji’s President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, at the State House in Suva.
Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Le Saos emphasized the importance of Fiji as a partner for France. She stated, “Together with Fiji, France shares the same willingness to contribute positively to a peaceful, prosperous and resilient Pacific region and to a sustainable future of our planet.”
She further asserted her personal commitment, alongside the commitment of the entire French Embassy team, to strengthen the relations between France and Fiji.
Before her role in Fiji, Ms. Le Saos served as the deputy Head of Mission at the French Embassy in Australia. Her previous positions include Cultural Attaché at the French Embassy in the United States from 2016 to 2020, and roles in various departments within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Strategic, Security and Disarmament from 2013 to 2016, and United Nations and International Organizations from 2012 to 2013. She also worked at the French Embassy in Japan from 2010 to 2012.
Ms. Le Saos holds degrees from the reputable Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and the Institut des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO).
