Residents of the Navunisaleka Settlement in Kalabu, Naitasiri, are celebrating the enhancement of their village’s safety and accessibility with the inauguration of a new foot crossing. The $36,000 project, which received government funding and was commissioned by Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Sakiasi Ditoka, replaces an unsound makeshift bridge that many villagers relied upon, especially during flooding events.
Minister Ditoka expressed the government’s dedication to improving safety and connectivity in rural areas through such projects.
