Vuate Karawalevu, a new recruit for the Fijian Drua rugby team, has expressed his excitement about joining the prestigious club. The 23-year-old, hailing from Dravuwalu Village in Kadavu, has transitioned to the Drua from the Waratahs. Karawalevu attributes his move to what he views as divine intervention, stating, “God always sees people that are working hard.”

Having started his career with the Waratahs but not securing a selection, Karawalevu feels a sense of joy returning home. He consulted his parents, who supported his decision to join the Drua, making this a thrilling opportunity not only for him but also for his family.

Karawalevu has settled in well with the team, noting that many players are familiar friends from past experiences, including their time together in the Flying Fijians tour and their days in high school and the Fiji Schoolboys. He has expressed his versatility, stating he is comfortable playing in the back three positions and enjoys both the fullback and wing roles, ready to adapt to what the team needs.

This positive development is a testament to the strong community ties in Fijian rugby, showcasing the importance of family support and local connections in athletes’ journeys. Karawalevu’s return to the Drua not only enriches his personal career but also strengthens the team’s potential moving forward.
