Barbara Malimali, who was recently appointed as the Commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), is currently being questioned by authorities. A spokesperson for FICAC confirmed that she is in custody. Malimali took up her role just a day after FICAC conducted a raid on the office of the Electoral Commission, where she serves as chairwoman. The commission indicated that the raid was part of an investigation involving Ms. Malimali.
