New Family Park Unveiled in Tavua

Tavua now boasts a new family park, made possible by a $63,000 donation from the FIJI Water Foundation and an additional $3,200 from the Gold Water Carnival Committee.

Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa, officially opened the park last week.

“Today, we witness the power of public-private partnerships. The Tavua Town Council and the FIJI Water Foundation have collaborated to create this beautiful park,” said Nalumisa.

He encouraged more such collaborations, highlighting the significant benefits they bring to local communities.

The park’s final phase will include a dedicated area for senior citizens.

“Our elders hold a special place in our hearts, offering mentorship and sharing their wisdom with younger generations,” Nalumisa added. “This space will honor their contributions and provide a peaceful place for them to relax and enjoy.”

He affirmed that the park symbolizes a commitment to building a thriving, sustainable, and enjoyable town for all.
