Lynda Tabuya is set to be sworn in as the new Minister for Information, while Tomasi Tunabuna will be appointed as the Minister for Agriculture, according to an announcement made by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka. In addition, Inosi Kuridrani will take on the role of Assistant Minister for Agriculture.
Prime Minister Rabuka has decided to make these appointments as part of his commitment to strengthen the government’s public relations efforts through the Ministry of Information. While he has held the Information portfolio himself, he believes Tabuya is well-qualified to lead this important area and enhance communication between the government and the public.
These new appointments will be formalized during a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, officiated by the President. The addition of these ministers is seen as an opportunity to inject fresh perspectives and renewed energy into the respective ministries, particularly as the government aims to address key areas such as agriculture and information dissemination effectively.
This transition reflects a proactive approach to governance and the critical engagement of ministers in shaping policies and services to better serve the community. With these changes, there is a hopeful outlook for improved collaboration and innovation within the government.
