New Era for Fiji Rugby: John Sanday Takes Charge

The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has announced the appointment of John Sanday as its new chairman. Sanday, who has recently become a member of the FRU Board, was elected to the position during the organization’s annual general meeting and officially took charge during the inaugural board meeting.

With a new company structure and constitution in place, the FRU is optimistic that Sanday’s leadership will mark the beginning of a transformative period for Fiji Rugby. Under his direction, the union plans to enhance growth, foster innovation, and achieve success at all levels of the sport.

The FRU is confident that Sanday will significantly influence the future of rugby in Fiji, continuing the momentum gained by national teams and reinforcing the sport’s foundation throughout the country. The newly elected members of the FRU Board include legal director Mosese Naivalu, commercial director Tevita Tuiloa, women’s director Cathy Wong, and rugby directors Koli Sewabu and Conway Beg. Together, they will serve a four-year term.
