The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. The club released a statement last Friday confirming the addition of Koroiduadua to strengthen their front row as they look to build on their recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).
Koroiduadua, a 25-year-old from Nalebaleba in Nadroga, has been with the Drua since their inaugural season in 2022 after two years with Clermont in the French Top 14. He also played for the Drua in 2019.
The club described Koroiduadua as one of Fiji’s rising stars, highlighting his ability to bring exceptional power and physicality to the Free Jacks’ forward line. With over 20 appearances for the Fijian Drua across three seasons in Super Rugby Pacific, Koroiduadua has also earned two caps for the Flying Fijians, including being part of the squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
He has experience competing for Nadroga in the Skipper Cup and previously represented the national Under-20 team. Koroiduadua is recognized as a formidable scrummager, having played a vital role in enhancing the quality of the Drua’s scrum in Super Rugby Pacific last season. Weighing in at 255 pounds, he is known for his powerful presence, whether he has the ball or not, making him a valuable asset for the Free Jacks’ forward pack.
In addition to Koroiduadua, the Free Jacks have also secured the signing of New Zealand lock Sam Caird for the upcoming season.
