The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. The club confirmed this news in a statement last Friday, highlighting that Koroiduadua will significantly enhance their front row as they seek to build on recent achievements and strive for continued success in Major League Rugby (MLR).

Koroiduadua, a 25-year-old from Nalebaleba, Nadroga, has been with the Drua since its inaugural season in 2022 after spending two years with Clermont in the French Top 14, and he was also part of the Drua in 2019. The club praised Koroiduadua as one of Fiji’s most promising talents, noting that he will add significant power and physicality to the Free Jacks’ front row.

Despite his young age, Koroiduadua brings an impressive rugby background, having played over 20 matches for the Fijian Drua in three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific and earning international experience with two caps for the Flying Fijians, including selection for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. He previously played for Nadroga in the Skipper Cup competition and has represented the national Under-20 team.

The club emphasized Koroiduadua’s prowess as a scrummager on both sides of the scrum, highlighting his vital role in the strong Fijian Drua scrum during the last Super Rugby Pacific season. Weighing in at 255 pounds, he is known for his powerful presence in collisions, whether with or without the ball, making him a key asset for the Free Jacks’ forward pack. Alongside Koroiduadua, New Zealand lock Sam Caird has also joined the team as an international signing for the season.
