New Commercial Lot in Savusavu Promises 100 Jobs and Economic Growth!

A new commercial lot covering 1.14 hectares has been inaugurated in Qaraniqatio, Savusavu, which is anticipated to create around 100 job opportunities for local residents.

Filimoni Vosarogo, Minister for Land and Mineral Resources, stated that this development will elevate the town’s profile, making it a recognized destination. He expressed confidence that many visitors would be drawn to experience the hospitality offered by the Tui Nasavusavu and the local community.

According to Vosarogo, this project represents significant economic progress and enhances the region’s economic landscape. The site consists of 11 individual lots on state land, which will include ample parking space for visitors.

Sanya Dayal, director of Land Planning, Surveying, and Engineering Consultants Fiji, emphasized that this initiative is a positive development for both the community and the economy. She noted that comprehensive feasibility studies have been carried out in collaboration with the ministry to ensure sustainable development and the future establishment of a thriving commercial hub.

Dayal also mentioned that the second phase of the project will involve enhancements to the EFL grid, water supply, and road infrastructure for the commercial lots.
