New Commercial Development Promises 100 Jobs in Savusavu!

A new commercial lot spanning 1.14 hectares was inaugurated last Friday in Qaraniqatio, Savusavu, and is anticipated to create approximately 100 job opportunities for local residents.

Filimoni Vosarogo, the Minister for Land and Mineral Resources, emphasized that this development would transform the town into a more prominent destination. “Many will be drawn to experience the hospitality of the Tui Nasavusavu and his community,” he commented.

According to Vosarogo, the initiative represents significant economic growth and enhances the area’s economic landscape. He mentioned that the project includes a total of 11 lots on the state land, with ample parking facilities for everyone.

Sanya Dayal, the director of Land Planning, Surveying and Engineering Consultants Fiji, stated that this event marks a major advancement for both the community and the economy. She highlighted that through collaboration with the ministry, all necessary feasibility studies have been completed to ensure sustainable development and to position the area as a viable commercial hub in the future.

Dayal also noted that the second phase of the project would involve improvements to the EFL grid, water supply, and road access for the commercial lots.
