Marika Rodu has been appointed as the head coach for the Bula Boys as they prepare to compete in the 2024 Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Ministers Cup, taking place this week in the Solomon Islands. He steps in for Rob Sherman, who is unable to fulfill his coaching duties due to prior personal commitments.

Rodu will receive support from Timo Jankowski, the Technical Director of Fiji FA. The team is set to depart for the tournament today and will begin their campaign against Vanuatu on Thursday at 2 PM. Following that, they will face Papua New Guinea on Sunday at 5 PM, and the Solomon Islands Development team next Wednesday at 7 PM. The tournament will culminate with a match against the host nation, Solomon Islands, the following Saturday at 7 PM.

This change in coaching staff presents an opportunity for Rodu to demonstrate his capabilities and for the team to forge a path toward success in this important regional tournament. With strong support behind him, their chances of success look promising as they aim to make a significant impact in the competition.
