Marika Rodu has taken on the role of head coach for the Bula Boys as they prepare for the 2024 Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Ministers Cup this week in the Solomon Islands. Rodu steps in for Rob Sherman, who is unable to attend due to prior personal commitments. He will be supported by Fiji FA Technical Director Timo Jankowski.
The team is set to depart today and will face Vanuatu on Thursday at 2 PM, followed by matches against Papua New Guinea on Sunday at 5 PM and the Solomon Islands Development team next Wednesday at 7 PM. The Bula Boys will conclude their tournament with a final match against the host nation, Solomon Islands, on Saturday at 7 PM.
This shift in coaching leadership presents an opportunity for Rodu to showcase his abilities and for the team to demonstrate resilience and adaptability. With good preparation and teamwork, there is a positive outlook for the Bula Boys in this regional tournament.
