A new champion has emerged in the boys’ division of the Tailevu Zone Athletics competition, as Queen Victoria School (QVS) dethroned the reigning champions, Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS). QVS finished the event with an impressive tally of 33 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze medals, ensuring they held onto their lead in the medal count throughout the competition.
Ratu Kadavulevu School ended in second place, securing 15 gold, 21 silver, and 13 bronze medals, while Tailevu North College (TNC) claimed the third spot with a total of 4 gold, 3 silver, and 12 bronze medals.
Additionally, TNC triumphed in the girls’ division, defending their title by amassing 23 gold, 11 silver, and 13 bronze medals. Dawasamu Secondary School finished in the runner-up position, earning 10 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze medals, followed by Wainibuka Secondary School in third place with 9 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
This year’s competition was noted for the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship exhibited by the athletes and schools, reflecting a positive environment for young competitors.
