A new champion will be determined in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend, as the defending titleholders Ba have been eliminated following a 1-1 draw against Rewa in their final group match.
Coached by Timoci Seru, Ba had a disappointing tournament, finishing with only two points and a single goal across their three games. Needing to win by two goals to advance, Ba struggled as Rewa took an early lead with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph just three minutes into the match. Nabil Begg equalized for Ba with a penalty in the 11th minute.
With this result, Nadi has advanced to the semifinals on Saturday. Rewa, backed by Extra Supermarket, tops Group B and will compete in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, finishing as the runner-up, will contest the first semifinal.
