The 2024 Cecil’s National Club Championship is set to feature a new champion as the defending titleholder, Ba Police, will not participate in this year’s tournament. The final team placements were confirmed during the draws held by the Fiji Football Association.

This year, eight teams from across Fiji are ready to compete for the prestigious title. The teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes Downtown FC from Nadroga, Rivals FC from Lautoka, Buiduna FC from Naitasiri, and Nakasi Police FC from Rewa. Group B is made up of Flying Arrows FC from Ba, Blues FC from Nadi, Friends United FC from Nasinu, and North Poles FC from Labasa, representing Vanua Levu.

The competition is scheduled to unfold next week, running from Thursday, December 5th to Sunday, December 8th. The opening matches will take place at Ratu Cakobau Park, with subsequent games held at the Fiji Football Association ground in Vatuwaqa.

This shift in defending champions offers an exciting opportunity for fresh talent and teams to showcase their skills on a new platform, adding an element of unpredictability to the tournament. Fans can look forward to thrilling matches and the potential emergence of a new champion in Fijian football.
