The 2024 Cecil’s National Club Championship will see a new champion emerge, as the defending titleholder, Ba Police, will not participate in this year’s event. This was confirmed during the tournament’s group draws held by the Fiji Football Association today.
A total of eight teams from various regions of Fiji will compete for the prestigious championship. The teams include four from the West, one from the North, and three from the South.
Group A features Downtown FC from Nadroga, Rivals FC of Lautoka, Buiduna FC of Naitasiri, and Nakasi Police FC from Rewa. Meanwhile, Group B includes Flying Arrows FC from Ba, Blues FC from Nadi, Friends United FC from Nasinu, and North Poles FC from Labasa, representing Vanua Levu.
The championship is scheduled to take place next week, from Thursday, December 5th to Sunday, December 8th. The opening matches will occur at Ratu Cakobau Park, with subsequent games hosted at the Fiji Football Association ground in Vatuwaqa.
