A new champion will be decided at the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend. The event follows the early exit of the reigning champions, Ba, who concluded their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Rewa in their final group match.
Coached by Timoci Seru, Ba struggled throughout the tournament, securing only two points and scoring just one goal across three matches. Facing Rewa, the Men in Black needed a victory by two goals to advance.
Rewa took an early lead with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph in the third minute, but Nabil Begg equalized from the penalty spot just eight minutes later. This result allowed Nadi to progress to the semifinals on Saturday.
Rewa, backed by Extra Supermarket, topped Group B and will compete in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, finishing as the runner-up, will play in the first semifinal.
