The 2024 Cecil’s National Club Championship is set to feature a fresh winner as the reigning champion, Ba Police, will not be participating in this year’s event. This announcement follows the completion of the group draws conducted by the Fiji Football Association.

Eight teams from across Fiji have qualified to contest for the title, with four teams from the Western region, one from the Northern region, and three from the Southern region. Group A includes Downtown FC from Nadroga, Rivals FC of Lautoka, Buiduna FC from Naitasiri, and Nakasi Police FC based in Rewa. Meanwhile, Group B features Flying Arrows FC from Ba, Blues FC representing Nadi, Friends United FC from Nasinu, and North Poles FC hailing from Labasa in Vanua Levu.

The championship is scheduled to take place from Thursday, December 5 to Sunday, December 8. The opening matches will kick off at Ratu Cakobau Park, with subsequent games taking place at the Fiji Football Association ground in Vatuwaqa.

This year’s tournament poses an exciting opportunity for teams to rise to the occasion and showcase their talents on a national stage. The absence of last year’s champion could lead to unexpected outcomes and thrilling competitions, offering fans a chance to witness emerging clubs making their mark in Fijian football.
