The Fijian Drua has appointed Josaia Moimoi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hailing from Vanuabalavu in Lau, Moimoi brings over a decade of expertise in financial services to the organization. He takes over from Shafina Dean, who has left to further her education in New Zealand.
Moimoi’s selection followed a rigorous recruitment process that featured both local and international candidates. The management expressed confidence in his capabilities, noting his extensive experience in the financial sector. They also extended gratitude to Dean for her noteworthy contributions during her tenure with the Drua.
In terms of qualifications, Moimoi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management, along with credentials in Organisational Behaviour from Brigham Young University in Hawaii. Prior to joining the Fijian Drua, he served as a Financial Management Specialist at the Embassy of the United States.
This leadership change represents a new chapter for the Fijian Drua as Moimoi’s financial acumen is expected to strengthen the club’s financial health and sustainability, ultimately benefiting its performance in the competitive landscape of professional sports. The transition also reflects the organization’s commitment to nurturing talent within the Pacific region while encouraging professional growth.
