New CEO Appointed to Lead Fiji Roads Authority into the Future

Apisai Ketenilagi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), with his term starting on January 2, 2025, and lasting for three years. The FRA Board made this appointment in accordance with the Fiji Roads Authority Act of 2012.

To ensure the selection of the most qualified candidate for this critical position, the Board sought the assistance of KPMG through its internal Procurement Department. The role was advertised following the FRA’s recruitment policy, and Ketenilagi was chosen by a panel of three FRA Board Members who conducted the interviews.

Ketenilagi brings over three decades of experience in road infrastructure engineering, having contributed significantly to highways, rural roads, bridges, marine structures, construction, and asset maintenance. His qualifications are impressive, including a Master of Science in Highway Management and Engineering, an International Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he is a respected member of various professional engineering institutes across Australia, the UK, the USA, Asia, and Australasia.

FRA Board Chairman Atunaisa Nayago expressed confidence in Ketenilagi’s leadership abilities, stating that his extensive background in infrastructure development and management makes him the perfect fit for this important role. Nayago emphasized the Board’s belief that Ketenilagi will enhance the FRA’s performance and uphold the commitment to providing safe and sustainable infrastructure in Fiji.
