New categories have been introduced for the upcoming Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, set to take place on Saturday, November 30, at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort in Nadi. Businesses have until the end of the month to submit their applications for a total of 15 categories featured in the 2024 awards.
Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji and event organizer, stated that the awards will highlight significant areas of excellence, with new categories including the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award. He emphasized that the addition of these new categories aims to broaden the selection and recognize remarkable accomplishments in vital sectors.
This year’s awards, themed “Business Innovation and Sustainability,” were officially launched last month. The response to the call for applications has been described as “impressive” by the organizers. Chetty highlighted that the focus on innovation and sustainability reflects the commitment to encouraging businesses to adopt sustainable practices while achieving success. He noted a strong interest from first-time applicants eager to share their success stories, highlighting the awards’ role in celebrating innovation and excellence within the business community.
Chetty urged businesses that have not yet applied to act promptly, to avoid missing the opportunity for recognition and networking with industry leaders.
