New Categories Unveiled for PM’s Business Awards

New categories are set to be introduced for this year’s Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, which will take place on Saturday, November 30 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort on Denarau Island in Nadi. Businesses have until the end of October to submit their applications across a total of 15 categories for the 2024 awards.

Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji and event organizer, announced that the new categories include the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award. He emphasized that these additions will broaden the scope of the awards and allow for the recognition of significant achievements in essential areas.

The theme for this year’s event is Business Innovation and Sustainability, and it was officially launched last month. Organizers have reported an impressive response in applications, particularly noting a significant number of first-time applicants sharing their success stories, which highlights the importance of the awards in honoring innovation and excellence within the business sector.

Chetty encouraged businesses that have not yet applied to do so quickly to seize the opportunity for recognition and networking with industry leaders.

The 15 award categories include:
1. Supreme Award
2. Premier Large Business Operating Internationally Award
3. Premier Medium Business Operating Internationally Award
4. Premier Small Business Operating Internationally Award
5. Excellence in Innovation Award
6. Excellence in E-Commerce Transformation Award
7. Excellence in Service Award
8. Agri-Business Innovation Award
9. Excellence in Fisheries Award
10. Excellence in Forestry Award
11. Executive of the Year Award
12. Employer of the Year Award
13. Best Sustainability Initiative Award
14. Excellence in Outsourcing Award
15. Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award
