New Categories Boost Excitement for PM’s International Business Awards

New categories have been introduced for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, set to take place on Saturday, November 30, at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort in Nadi. Businesses have until the end of the month to submit applications across 15 categories for the 2024 awards.

According to Kamal Chetty, CEO of Investment Fiji and event organizer, the new categories include the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award. He emphasized that these additions will enhance the awards by recognizing significant achievements in vital sectors.

This year’s awards, themed “Business Innovation and Sustainability,” was officially launched last month, and organizers have reported a strong response to the application call. Chetty noted that the focus on innovation and sustainability reflects the commitment to promoting sustainable business practices.

He expressed excitement over the number of first-time applicants who have shared their success stories, highlighting the awards’ role in acknowledging innovation and excellence within the business community. Chetty encouraged businesses that have not yet applied to do so promptly to seize the chance for recognition and networking opportunities with industry leaders.

The 15 categories for this year’s awards include the Supreme Award, Premier Large Business Operating Internationally Award, Premier Medium Business Operating Internationally Award, Premier Small Business Operating Internationally Award, Excellence in Innovation Award, Excellence in E-Commerce Transformation Award, Excellence in Service Award, Agri-Business Innovation Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, Executive of the Year Award, Employer of the Year Award, Best Sustainability Initiative Award, Excellence in Outsourcing Award, and Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award.
