New Acting Permanent Secretary appointed for Fisheries and Forestry

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Sanjana Devi Lal as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry. This decision was made in agreement with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka. Lal succeeds former Acting PS Rovereto Nayacalevu, who resigned last month and has recently become the Chief Executive of the Fiji Rugby Union.

PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada mentioned that Lal has nearly 30 years of experience in the Civil Service and has served as the Conservator of Forests since March 2017.

“She has the qualifications, knowledge, and experience to assume the role, and I am confident in her ability to perform the duties required of her as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry,” Rokovada said.

Lal holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the Australian National University and a Postgraduate Degree in Science.
