The Salad Bowl Netball Festival is scheduled to begin on Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, featuring netball teams from various regions of Fiji as well as international competitors.
This year’s tournament will showcase a competitive field in the open women, men’s, and U15 divisions, with both local and international teams excited to showcase their talents.
In the Open Women division, 16 teams will compete in four pools. Pool A consists of Salad Bowl One, Wanderers One, Seniwi, and Gusinawai. Pool B includes Salad Bowl Two, Wanderers Two, Angel Stars, and Surf City. Pool C features Coastal Magic, Super 7, Tavua, and KAPPL, while Pool D comprises Blooms Magic, Huva Stallions, Rising Stars, and Ba River.
The Men’s division will see fierce competition as well, with eight teams competing in two pools. Pool A includes Salad Bowl One, Highlanders, Blooms Magic, and Tavua, while Pool B consists of Salad Bowl Two, Namosi, Huva Stallions, and Navosa.
The U15 division will highlight emerging talent, with teams divided into Pool A and Pool B. Pool A features Angel Stars One, Salad Bowl Development, Huva Stallions, Seniwi, Gusinawai, and Rising Stars. Pool B includes Angel Stars Two, Salad Bowl Swifts, Blooms Magic, Seniwi Green, Henitaveti, and Huva Stallions Two.
Judy Kumar, president of the Salad Bowl Netball, noted that the festival’s aim is to provide teams with enhanced opportunities to compete beyond their regular club seasons.
With participation from various regions of Fiji and international entrants, including teams from Australia, the Salad Bowl Netball Festival promises to deliver an exciting showcase of netball talent, fostering a sense of community and competitive spirit among local teams for an exhilarating day of matches.
